This three-story feature provides three very different perspectives of the transition from virtual to real world, and the bond formed between individuals who cross that line. The first story, 'Catching the Bus', has already been shot and to test the waters, it was included in the official selection of the Strasbourg International Film Festival, where it received two nominations: best screenplay and best cinematography. For a long time I've been fascinated by the magnetism exerted by the internet, attracting an increasing number of people from all social backgrounds to an array of networking sites, communities and blogs. This attraction to the 'unknown other' seems to remove our inhibitions to communicate with total strangers, perhaps reassured by the apparent safe distance of our PCs in a virtual landscape. So when the line is crossed and the virtual becomes real, what then? Can new, uncompromising relationships begin, or are these newly transferred bonds mere extensions to our assumptions and preconceptions. A virtual world, destined to evaporate.
