We provide bespoke training packages across four main areas, children and young people, INSET workshops for teaching staff, team-building and professional training.  All training packages are planned and designed with the client to ensure that participants receive the most appropriate instruction and learn new skills.  Our training packages can run from one-day intensive workshops to longer periods.

We use the latest professional equipment to ensure participants have a ‘real lie’ experience of the moving image media industries.  All of our freelance artists work in the creative industries and are committed to developing peoples’ skills.  We provide CRB certificates for artistsand filmmakers working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Engagement of children and young people

girls Devising and producing a film allows young people to try their hand at a number of professional roles from actor to director.  As well as introducing young people to moving images, these workshops also support individual development, build confidence and introduce participants to positive role models.  We have found that the most interesting results arise from participants being involved in every stage of the process including idea generation, script development, acting, working with camera and sound equipment, direction and production.  Our young people workshops can take place in formal educational settings (ie. schools, PRUs and colleges) or non-formal settings (ie. clubs and community spaces).  Formal education workshops will be designed to compliment the National Curriculum or other recognised learning standard.

Education INSET

Our one-day workshops support individual staff members’ CPD and will provide participants with new skills and ideas that can be taken back into the classroom.  We have developed our INSET training around the moving image media as this allows participants to explore individual skills and also group dynamics.  Our INSET courses are designed in consultation with the school to offer a range of opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge of both recently qualified and experienced teachers.  We strive to use visual and film-based methodology, although we have also worked with a broad range of other tools and professionals, depending on the brief.  Each stage involves participants working individually and as part of a team and links to National Curriculum outcomes.

Team building

We provide tailored training for companies/organisations keen to invest in their workforce.  Our workshops help to build team morale; allow staff members to explore working relationships and effective communication using a variety of filmmaking and/or theatre techniques.  Whilst each workshop is tailored to focus on specific outcomes, they all involve similar processes, which are centered around the individual and their relationship to colleagues, senior management and clients.

Professional training

dolly
If you are new to filmmaking or wish to further your skills then we do have a number of solutions.  Using professional equipment we develop short, intensive and bespoke courses in both fiction and documentary making. We aim to provide this mainly to other organisations directly, but we also do from time to time hold our own courses, which usually have a limited number of places (5 to 12 people), so those enrolling have a truly personalised experience, both in terms of contact time with tutors and equipment.
